Textbook: Forza Due
Expectations: Students are to come to class with the textbook, workbook, a notebook, and a pen or pencil everyday. Please have the textbook covered at all times. If the book is not covered, a detention will be assigned. Class work and notes should be reviewed on a daily basis at home in addition to any written exercises that may be assigned.

Week of September 3 Students will thoroughly review basic vocabulary from Italian I through providing synonyms, antonyms, and definitions as well as completing sentences and writing original sentences for specific review words.
Week of September 8 Students will continue to review vocabulary from Italian I. Monday Review of corrected vocabulary quizzes; review of vocabulary c-d, practice with vocabulary c-d. Tuesday Review of vocabulary c-d; writing practice using vocabulary c-d. Wednesday Quiz vocabulary c-d; presentation of review vocabulary e-m. Thursday Review of corrected quizzes; review of vocabulary e-m; practice of vocabulary e-m. Friday Further practice with vocabulary e-m (students will create original sentences using vocabulary e-m); play Lotto.
Week of September 15 Students will continue to review Italian I vocabulary. Monday Quiz- vocabulary e-m; presentation of review vocabulary n-z. Tuesday Review of vocabulary n-z; begin vocabulary worksheet. Wednesday Review of vocabulary n-z; complete crossword puzzles. Thursday Quiz vocabulary n-z; review of -are, -ere-, ire and irregular verbs from Italian I. Friday Review of corrected quizzes; continue to review verbs; discussion of the San Gennaro festival; presentation of review vocabulary a-z in preparation for Wednesday's test.
Week of September 22 Students will be able to use the review vocabulary from Italian I in conjunction with -are, -ere and -ire, and irregular verbs to form sentences. They will review the conjugation of verbs and the formation of the plural of nouns and adjectives. Monday Review of review vocabulary a-z; review of the conjugation of regular verbs. Tuesday Completion of word search and crossword puzzle in preparation for tomorrow's test; review of avere, essere, fare, stare, and dare. Wednesday Test- review vocabulary a-z. Thursday Review of corrected tests; review of the verbs andare, sapere, dovere and potere. Friday Quiz-- regular verbs. Review of irregular verbs, review of noun-adjective agreement.
Week of September 29 Students will continue to review Italian I grammar. Monday Review of corrected quizzes; practice with irregular verbs presented on Friday with the addition of volere. Thursday Review of irregular verbs; review of noun/adjective agreement. Friday Quiz-irregular verbs; review of possessive adjectives; introduction of new vocabulary p. 6.
Week of October 6 Students will learn vocabulary related to the extended family as well as hobbies and birthdays.. Monday Presentation of new vocabulary of chapter 1 p.6 through modeling and repetition. Presentation of foto-romanzo pp. 2-5 Tuesday Review of vocabulary p. 6; continue reading of "Il compleanno di nonno Enio" Wednesday Quiz-vocabulary p. 6; complete reading. Thursday No school Friday Review of corrected quizzes; presentation of new vocabulary p. 9 as well as review of the months of the year and the ordinal numbers.
Week of October 13 Students will continue to speak about their extended family while reading about Enio's birthday celebration. In addition, they will begin their study of the past tense. Monday Discussion of Columbus Day; review of vocabulary p. 9. Tuesday Review of vocabulary p.9; viewing of Columbus Day parade; presentation of the passato prossimo. Wednesday Quiz on p. 9 vocabulary; review and practice of the passato prossimo; presentation of reading Enio e i cocomeri pp.11-14. Thursday Review of corrected quizzes; reading comprehension check. Friday Presentation and practice of p. 14 vocabulary; substitution dialog p. 15; A lingua sciolta p. 16.
Week of October 20 Students will complete chapter 1 and prepare for chapter test. Monday Review of the passato prossimo of regular -are verbs; presentation of gli piace and le piace and review of mi piace and ti piace p. 10; writing practice with p. 14 vocabulary. Tuesday Quiz- passato prossimo; review and practice of the verb piacere. Wednesday Review for chapter 1 test. Thursday Reading comprehension check p. 14; reading practice/substitution drill p. 15. Week of October 27 Students will learn new vocabulary related to the environment and the foto-romanzo Una gita al parco nazionale di Abruzzo pp. 20-23. In addition, they will learn the regions of Italy and the capitals of each region. Monday Review of corrected tests; presentation of new vocabulary p. 24. Tuesday Review of vocabulary p. 24; practice with vocabulary; presentation of reading on pages 20-23. Wednesday Review of vocabulary; completion of reading; reading comprehension check. Week of November 3 Fall Break
Week of November 10 Students will continue to study the geography of Italy, its regions and their capitals. Monday Conversation/Writing practice; students will compose 2-3 sentences describing their activities of Fall Break, write them on the board while the students at their seats critique the sentences; presentation of map project. Tuesday Presentation of general facts regarding general Italian geography; discussion of the regions of northern Italy. Wednesday Review of northern Italy; presentation and discussion of the regions of central Italy. Thursday Review of central Italy; presentation of the regions of southern Italy. Friday Review of southern Italy; presentation of new vocabulary p. 30.
Week of November 17 Students will complete their study of Italy's regions and capitals.
